I have had the travel bug for as long as I can remember. Maybe I got the gene from my grandmother, who still travelled at age 94. Earlier in my life, my job as a flight attendant supplied the means and the tickets for round-the-world travel.

I now live in Shanghai where I continue to explore in China and all of Asia. I usually prefer to explore off the beaten paths. When I’m not packing my suitcases (an ironic phobia of mine), I follow my passion for art. I have studied and taught Chinese Ink Painting in both my native Germany and in China, and it is my love for this art form (and my husband’s career) that brought me to China. Now easy access to rice paper, Chinese Ink and adventure keep my return to native Germany postponed.

This blog is an online home-away-from-home for me to share my experiences and stories.
